Sony Awards LDS Internet Sensations "The Piano Guys" with First Gold Album

You may not have heard of Jon Schmidt, Paul Anderson, Steven Sharp Nelson or Al van der Beek—but you've definitely heard of what they make together. The Piano Guys, a group of four Latter-day Saint musicians, have taken the world by storm since they began uploading music to their YouTube channel six years ago.

Now, they've been recognized by Sony with their first official U.S. Gold certified album. It was a surprise to them, presented at one of their recent hometown concert performances. They posted the exciting news on Facebook:

Even though much of their work is secular, The Piano Guys have never shied away from advertising their faith through their music. They've collaborated with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and other well-known LDS artists like Alex Boye, and they've also performed renditions of many spiritual songs. Here's one of our favorites!
