The True Cost of Spiritual Freedom

We’re approaching the 4th of July, the day we celebrate the birth of our nation and the freedoms we enjoy.

I like the bumper sticker slogan “freedom isn’t free”. This simple turn of phrase reminds us of those in the armed forces who have paid the price to fight battles outside our country. It also reminds us of those representing moral forces who have paid the price to fight injustice within our country. We celebrate freedoms that are enshrined in our constitution and enshrined in our hearts. Political, social, and religious freedom are all worth celebrating and fighting for.

But there is one price that has been paid that made us truly free.
