New leaders for 129 missions have been announced—find out who and where they’re serving

Six new missions — five in Africa and one in Europe — bring the total of Church missions to 416 by July 2023.

The Church has just announced new mission leaders for 129 missions around the world. Leaders for the Colorado Colorado Springs Mission, Arkansas Little Rock Mission, Washington Tacoma Mission, Argentina Mendoza Mission, and the Argentina Rosario Mission will be announced at a later date.

The full list of new leadership includes 18 missions in Africa, 11 in Asia, 27 in South America, 53 in North America, 8 in Central America, 14 in Europe, and three in the Pacific.

Among the new mission presidents is President Davis M. Smith and his wife Asialene, who have been called to preside over the Brazil Recife North Mission. Smith is the founder and former CEO of Cotopaxi, an international outdoor apparel company. The new mission presidents for the six new missions opening in 2023 have also been announced. These leaders will be opening the Cote d’Ivoire Abidjan North Mission, the Democratic Republic of the Congo Kananga Mission, the Nigeria Aba Mission, the Nigeria Abuja Mission, the South Africa Pretoria Mission, and the Romania Bucharest Mission.

All of the newly called leadership couples will begin their three-year service in July of 2023. Here are some of the couples who have been called and assigned:
