Faith Counts, a nonprofit made up of many religious communities, recently held a Film Your Faith video contest. Since April, the contest has had more than 140 entries from faiths across the nation. The winners of the contest were announced Friday, August 28.
“I am so pleased to be part of this great initiative aimed at promoting faith,” stated Elder Donald L. Hallstrom of the Seventy on Mormon Newsroom. “Seeing the winner accept the award was an affirmation that young people truly do understand the profound good that faith accomplishes.”
The People's Choice Award and $10,000 went to a Utah Valley University student, Austin Bagley, for a film featuring a young girl from Zimbabwe whose reliance on God helped her deal with her mother's death.
"Without Walls," a film showing the work of a faith-based charity in Florida that ministers to the homeless, won first place and $20,000.
Honorable mentions and $2,500 went to "I Am New" and "Metaphors of Faith." Check out all of these great films below!
