1 cup all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

6 tablespoons butter

1/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips

1 cup sugar, divided

3 tablespoons + 1/3 cup cocoa

Pinch baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/3 cup milk

1 egg yolk

1/3 cup brown sugar

1 1/2 cup hot water

In medium bowl, sift together flour and baking powder. In separate bowl, melt butter and chocolate chips. Add 2/3 cup sugar, 3 tablespoons cocoa, soda, salt, milk, and egg yolk. Combine with flour mixture. Pour batter into greased 5–6-quart slow cooker. Mix remaining sugar, 1/3 cup cocoa, brown sugar, and hot water. Pour over cake batter. Cover and cook on high 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until edges are set and pull away from sides. Cake will be very moist and the bottom will be a layer of molten chocolate.
