Beginning next year, BYU is changing how they send off their graduating students.
Brigham Young University will only have one commencement beginning in April 2019.
According to BYU News, the shift will "provide a quality commencement experience for all graduating students, guests, faculty and administration."
Previously, the Church-sponsored private university has traditionally held commencement in both April and August for graduating classes, and the ceremony has taken place on Thursday afternoons at 4 p.m. In the future, commencement will take place on Thursday mornings, with college convocations following in the afternoon. Additional convocations will be held on Fridays.
