David Archuleta joins children’s choir to create a timely, hopeful music video: 'From a Distance'

Conductor Ben Watson of the Rexburg Children’s Choir didn’t realize he was on a strict timeline when he reached out to David Archuleta about collaborating on a music video earlier this year. As it turns out, Archuleta and the children’s choir finished recording their music just one week before the COVID-19 shutdown. The group then had to film the video from separate locations—Archuleta in Nashville and the choir in eastern Idaho. Despite these challenges, the final music video, “From a Distance,” is a sweet reminder that as the song says, “God is always watching.”

“I believe this production was meant to be,” Watson told EastIdahoNews.com. “The message is so relevant for today’s challenging circumstances. I hope that as people hear the beautiful music, it will bring a little more hope and gladness to their lives.”

Participating in the video was a sentimental experience for Archuleta as he can remember his mother singing the song in Spanish to him when he little, EastIdahoNews.com reports.

“‘From a Distance’ was all nostalgic to me and so I wanted to do it to get back in touch with those simple fond memories,” Archuleta said.
