Our beloved, energetic prophet will turn 95 on September 9, and the world has been invited to celebrate with President Russell M. Nelson at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City on Friday, September 6 at 8 p.m. MDT. The birthday celebration includes a line up of renowned Latter-day Saint performers, including Donny Osmond, Jenny Oaks Baker & Family Four, GENTRI, The Bonner Family, Nathan Pacheco, and The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square.

During his Latin America Ministry Tour, President Nelson said about this upcoming gala celebration, "I hope that the focus won't be on me. I hope the focus will be on the Lord, His work, and the fact that He can work with anyone He puts in that presidential chair."

The celebration will be broadcast live in eight languages so Latter-day Saints across the world can participate. The performance will be broadcast live in English on the Church satellite system, ChurchofJesusChrist.org, and Facebook, as well as on thetabernaclechoir.org, youtube.com/thetabernaclechoirattemplesquare, and facebook.com/thetabernaclechoir.

The program will be broadcast in French, German, Mandarin, Portuguese, Spanish, and ASL on the Church satellite system, ChurchofJesusChrist.org, and thetabernaclechoir.org.

The broadcast will also be available following the performance on ChurchofJesusChrist.org and thetabernaclechoir.org.

The broadcast will be available for on-demand viewing on ChurchofJesusChrist.org, thetabernaclechoir.org, and youtube.com/thetabernaclechoirattemplesquare and will be rebroadcast on byutv.org on Sunday, September 8, 2019, at 4:30 p.m.

The birthday celebration will share insights into the life, ministry, and service of President Nelson. Videos will focus on how his career, family, and ministry have shaped who he is as a special witness of Jesus Christ. Elder S. Gifford Nielsen of the Seventy, a former sportscaster and professional football quarterback, and Ruth Todd, a former television news anchor, will emcee the concert celebration.

“These types of celebrations, which we have seen since the early years of the Church, give us inspiring insight into the lives of those chosen by God to serve as His prophets,” said President Dallin H. Oaks of the First Presidency. “I have personally attended many such events for past prophets, and each time I leave with a sense of wonder and gratitude for the way in which our Father in Heaven shapes, trains and teaches His prophets. It will be a privilege for all of us to participate and to celebrate President Nelson’s 95th birthday.”
