How to Start your Family History

When you’re starting down the great, intimidating road of piecing together your own family tree, know there are incredibly helpful resources to guide you along. Family Search is the world’s largest of them online and can help uncover even the most far-flung names and faces (and it’s free!). Creating an account is where you start, here’s how:

1. Start at Familysearch.org. Even if you’re new to FamilySearch, you can sign in using your lds.org username and password. If you’re without an LDS account, the following steps are for you.
