LDS Navy Football Coach Balances Job with Faith

Shortly after being hired as head coach of Navy football in December 2007, Ken Niumatalolo dropped a bombshell on his assistants.

In the first staff meeting of his tenure, Niumatalolo announced Navy would no longer conduct formal meetings on Sundays during the season. Not surprisingly, that declaration was met with stunned silence by the team's 12 full-time assistant coaches.

"I can remember seeing the looks on some of the guys' faces. They were like 'What?' They'd never heard of such a thing," Niumatalolo said.
