Time Lapse Video: Angel Moroni Placed on New U.S. Temple

A 9-foot-tall, 300-pound angel Moroni statue soared above the Tucson Arizona Temple on Thursday while bystanders broke into a harmonized version of "The Spirit of God."

The Tucson Arizona Temple was announced on October 6, 2012, with the site dedication by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf on October 17, 2015. This will make the sixth temple in Arizona, following the Mesa Arizona Temple dedicated in 1927, the Snowflake Arizona Temple dedicated in 2002, the Gila Valley Arizona Temple dedicated in 2010, the Gilbert Arizona Temple dedicated in 2014, and the Phoenix Arizona Temple also dedicated in 2014.

We're excited to have another temple of the Lord nearing completion, for as Spencer W. Kimball said, "Every foundation stone that is laid for a Temple, and every Temple completed … lessens the power of Satan on the earth, and increases the power of God and Godliness.”
