On Sunday, June 8, President Russell M. Nelson dedicated the Syracuse Utah Temple. It’s the fifth new temple he’s dedicated since becoming an apostle and the 206th temple of the Church.
At the dedication, he testified of the blessings of temple worship, saying,
“This is the Lord’s house. It is filled with His power. Those who live His higher laws have access to His higher power. God’s power helps us to grow from the trials of life, rather than be defeated by them. God’s power also helps us to withstand temptations with joy in our hearts.”

Sapporo Japan Temple

On August 21, 2016, President Nelson, then President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, dedicated the Sapporo Japan Temple. At the dedication, he said: “[Each temple] stands as a symbol of our membership in the Church, a sign of our faith in life after death, and as a sacred step toward eternal glory for us and our families.”
The temple dedication took place on President Thomas S. Monson’s 89th birthday and between two tropical storms in Japan—Typhoon Canthu and Tropical Storm Mindulle.
Concepción Chile Temple

In his first year as prophet, President Nelson dedicated the Concepción Chile Temple on October 28, 2018. The temple was built exceeding the safety requirements in Chile, meaning that, inside the structure, a 10-magnitude earthquake would feel like a 2-magnitude earthquake due to the building’s floating foundation.
At the dedication, President Nelson stated: “We are witnesses to a process of restoration. If you think the Church has been fully restored, you are just seeing the beginning. There is much more to come.”
Rome Italy Temple

President Nelson recognized the early apostles during the Rome Italy Temple dedicatory prayer on March 10, 2019, saying: “In this ancient and great city that has stood since biblical times—in this historic nation of Italy—we acknowledge the ministry of two of Thy Son’s early Apostles, Peter and Paul, who once blessed this land with their labors.”
This was a historic dedication as it was the first time that all members of the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles were gathered outside the United States.
Deseret Peak Utah Temple

Dedicated by President Nelson on November 10, 2024, the Deseret Peak Utah Temple was the 23rd operating temple of the Church in Utah and the 200th operating temple dedicated in this dispensation.
In a social media post honoring the dedication, President Nelson said, “I am filled with awe at all the Lord is doing for His people. ... The Lord is truly hastening His work. I am filled with gratitude for the Lord’s mercy in guiding us to bring temples closer to members of the Church throughout the world.”
President Nelson also rededicated the Manti Utah, Washington D.C. and Nuku’alofa Tonga temples.
