Latter-day Saint singing sensation Marie Osmond announced she is joining CBS's The Talk as a co-host.
"I am thrilled, you guys, to be joining season 10 and sitting around the table with these fabulous women at The Talk," Marie said in a recent Facebook post.
Marie is replacing former host Sara Gilbert, who announced her departure from the show a month ago.
Marie has often been vocal about her faith and beliefs on social media and talk shows. At the beginning of this year, Marie shared in an interview with People that despite her family's recent health problems, "I have great faith." After dwelling on the loss she has experienced in her life, she continued, "Those are the things that really bite, and they determine who you are inside and what your belief structure is. I just know that death is more of a rebirth for me. They move on, and even though we miss them here, I know I will see them again. There is no question in my mind."
On May 5, Osmond posted on Facebook, "Yesterday I celebrated my wedding anniversary by simply being grateful." Marie detailed the stress that can come into our lives each and every day, including when she helped her daughter teach a Primary class of 5 and 6 year-olds even when she felt like she couldn't find a spare moment. She adds, "When I started looking for gratitude I saw it everywhere and then trusted God to help me make the time... It will work out and I am grateful for that knowledge. I am simply trying to see gratitude as a habit; it’s something my mom instilled in me. She’d say, 'Marie, remember gratitude is a choice, it’s a verb!'"
In the past, Marie has joined The Talk as a guest and will begin co-hosting the show along with Eve, Carrie Ann Inaba, Sharon Osbourne, and Sheryl Underwood in September.
