Before I dive in, I want to make it clear that I have a deep belief that the things that make us different are important. Race, culture, socioeconomic status, gender, age, sexual orientation, and opportunities all shape us and influence how we see the world and live our lives. Diversity and differences within a whole enrich the group with understanding.

Last Saturday, mid running errands and playing with my dog, I started thinking about the upcoming general conference. I thought of the female leaders who might be released and wondered if I had taken full advantage of everything they had to offer during their relatively brief calls. Since auxiliary leadership changes roughly every five years, I wanted more opportunities to hear from these wonderful women. I longed to know more about these chosen disciples of Christ.

First let me just say, I’m sorry you’re hurting. Getting denied admittance to any college hurts, but there is a special sting when that college is owned by your Church. Though your Instagram feed may be flooded by #byubound posts please know you are not alone. There are thousands of kids who are quietly hurting just like you.

The holidays are nearly here, and with them come family parties, ward activities, and any number of dinners and invitations. Not because anything freaky is going to happen, but because you're about to make another covenant that you came to this very earth for the very purpose of making! Receiving your endowment is how life compensates for bad blind dates and finals.
