Salt Lake City — The early history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints spans a geographic distance of thousands of miles, all the way from England to the West Coast of the United States. Over the years, the Church has developed dozens of historic sites at or near locations where significant events in the history of the Church occurred. Exhibits and guides at each location tell the story of the Church and its people to thousands of visitors from around the world each year, encouraging a broader understanding of the time, the culture and the religious significance of each location.
Mormons’ faith, beliefs and practices translate to satisfaction with their lives according to a report studying members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the United States released today by the Pew Center’s Forum on Religion and Public Life. The study, a nationwide survey of 1,019 Latter-day Saints, sought to determine the levels of religiosity among Church members and found that 77% of members say they attend religious services at least once a week, 83% say they pray every day, 98% say they believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ and 97% describe their faith as a Christian religion. The study confirms that Mormons exhibit higher levels of religious commitment than many other religious groups and believe firmly in the distinctive tenants of their faith.
Today’s edition of “Getting It Right” features helpful summaries of Mormon beliefs, a story about the Church’s efforts to help fill the South Plains Food Bank in Texas, and an editor who tackles the topic of the founding of Mormonism with only one source.

I was, for example overjoyed when I heard the news of a possible averting of all-out war in Syria. I pray daily for peace and speak to everyone I know to convince them of the futility of conflict and sin. The type of peace I attempt to sow in my corner of the country though is not that of a mere ceasefire or armistice by one or several nations, which lasts only until they find another reason to attempt to “stimulate” their respective economies via war, but the type given by the Master to His disciples in John 14:27:
Fun
This weekend during conference, we cried, rejoiced, felt spiritual fed, and even laughed together. Here are just a few funny posts that captured how we all felt while watching our Church leaders speak.
