Jews can learn a lot from Mormons, editor says

Whether or not Mitt Romney becomes president of the United States, the editor of The Jewish Week in New York says there is a lot Jews can learn from the Mormons. "For the most part, (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) takes a decidedly, and admirably low-key approach to negativity in the media and elsewhere, focusing on its mission," wrote Gary Rosenblatt, The Jewish Week editor and publisher. "And in that, and other ways, there is much the American Jewish establishment can learn from the Mormons."

Once, as I sat by my father’s bedside through the night, he talked about his childhood. He spoke of the love of his parents in difficult times and of the love of his Heavenly Father and the Savior. I knew he was dying of cancer, so it did not surprise me that at times he mixed up his feelings for his Heavenly Father with the love and kindness of his earthly father. My father had often said that when he prayed, he thought he could see in his mind the smile of Heavenly Father.

Mormon duo wins python hunting challenge

A BYU graduate and a former BYU–Idaho student recently found an unexpected hobby — dragging pythons out of the Florida Everglades with their bare hands.These two Latter-day Saints and their fellow Florida Python Hunters won the recent Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission python hunting challenge that started Jan. 12 and continued for a month.
