When a Utah Valley University art student approached him about putting his work on exhibit and donating a piece to benefit the school's art scholarship fund, Greg Olsen harked back to a time when somebody helped him. "Years ago, I had a one-man show. I had a patron who supported me for a whole year while I worked on pieces for the show," Olsen said. "The agreement was such that at the end we were supposed to split the profits. When it came time to do that, he handed it all to me and said 'Someday you can do something for someone else.' Evangelical leaders worried that Mitt Romney's Mormonism could suppress conservative turnout on Election Day are intensifying appeals for Christians to vote. My original intention in writing this blog was to make a list of things you could do if you’re single in Valentine’s Day to take your mind off your lack of a lover. I meant to suggest that should you find yourself bereft of a boyfriend or girlfriend on this auspicious day, you could bake cookies with your roommates, learn to play the bagpipes, or use the time to finalize your zombie apocalypse preparedness plans. My suggestions were ridiculous—and then I realized it’s because the entire concept is ridiculous.

Understanding that Jesus Christ has been forgiving and merciful to us can help us forgive and extend mercy to others. “Jesus Christ is our Exemplar,” said President Thomas S. Monson. “His life was a legacy of love. The sick He healed; the downtrodden He lifted; the sinner He saved. At the end the angry mob took His life. And yet there rings from Golgotha’s hill the words: ‘Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do’—a crowning expression in mortality of compassion and love.”
With the decision for the Church to drop Scouting programs for boys ages 14–18, some may have questions about what this change means and how it will affect the Church's involvement with Boy Scouts of America.
