Weeks had passed since my adult daughter had moved to a new city, and each Sunday that she missed church brought me the same concerns. Would she ever return to church? I tried everything I could think of to get her there: encouragement, logic, pleading, acting as her personal alarm clock, prayer, fasting, even calling her bishop. Since we lived 2,000 miles (3,220 km) apart, it was difficult for me to attend with her, but I even tried that!
While Romney's trip was politically oriented, it carried with it the influence of his Mormon faith. Romney has said that "there's no question (my experiences in the church) helped shape my perspective" and he said that his trip to Israel, which included a visit to the Wailing Wall, had a spiritual impact on him. "I come to this place, therefore, with a sense of profound humility, as I look around here at great people who've accomplished a great thing, and also a sense of spiritual connection, acknowledging the hand of providence in establishing this place and making it a Holy City," Romney said at a breakfast on Monday.

Zivic of the Caribbean Area Presidency and his wife, Dina N. Zivic.

Below are statements on Mormons from prominent people in history as well as modern times. Horace Greeley
A small garden, a bench and a plaque along the Ogden River Parkway now stand as a memorial to a little girl who died in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. The parents of 6-year-old Emilie Parker came back to Ogden this week where friends and relatives wanted to do something so that the little girl is never forgotten. Emilie's parents, Robbie and Alissa Parker — who are from Ogden — were thrilled to see the memorial.
As my father’s colon cancer was killing him during the 1994 Christmas season, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles unexpectedly visited my parents’ home in Bountiful, Utah, and gave him a blessing before he died.
