1: We Are Responsible for Our Own Learning

The first Come, Follow Me lesson of 2023 takes a slightly different approach—and as scripture study lovers, we are totally here for it. Rather than providing a block of verses, the manual invites us to reflect on how we search the scriptures and reminds us of an important truth that this study group caught on to long ago: we are responsible for our own learning. Come join with us we prepare our hearts for a new year of drawing closer to the Savior.

4: “We Have Found the Messiah” (John 1)

Do you know what your first spoken word was? How about the first spoken word of a child in your life? Whatever it was, there’s something powerful and exciting about those earliest moments when we first learned to communicate. This week as we study John, Chapter 1, we’re going to learn about the importance of a word. And not just any word—the Word. So let’s accept this invitation from the Savior to come and see the power of that Word and begin to understand Him in a whole new light.

The Make Time Challenge with Marie Eckersley

President Nelson invited us to make time for the Lord in our everyday lives. He said, "He will lead and guide you in your personal life if you will make time for Him in your life—each and every day." We all want those promised blessings, but with such busy lives, it sometimes feels overwhelming to make time. What if we don't have to do more or be more to make it happen? Our community is participating in a "make time" challenge, and this episode dives into how Kathryn and guest Maria Eckersley took this challenge, how they were able to make the simple changes work in their everyday schedules, and what they learned in the process.

7: “Ye Must Be Born Again” (John 2-4)

Faith doesn’t have to fade in the face of uncertainty. Nicodemus, the Samaritan woman at the well, Mary the mother of Christ—they all held to their seed of faith even though they didn’t understand everything, and then they witnessed miracles. In this week’s lesson in John 2–4, we’ll dive into several accounts from the Savior’s early ministry and see how a precious bit of faith led to conversion. And along the way we’ll come to better appreciate the role that active and continuous belief has in our lives.

Jenny Guthrie: Coming To Know Jesus

Jenny Guthrie was a freshman in college when she first “found Jesus,” and her life has never been the same since. From supporting her husband in his career in Major League Baseball to being a mission leader of the Texas Houston South Mission, her relationship with Christ has been a game changer in her life. Now, she’s passionate about helping young people come to know this same Jesus that she found as a young woman. She recognizes that whether new converts or lifelong members, we all have to “seek this Jesus”—but it is her testimony that when we seek Him, we find Him every single time.

8: “Blessed Are Ye” (Matthew 5, Luke 6)

Here's a little lesson for your Come, Follow Me this week: in Latin, the word beatus means fortunate, blessed, or happy. This means that the Beatitudes in Jesus’s Sermon on the Mount are the happy verses, because in Matthew 5 and Luke 6 you can substitute “blessed” with the word “happy” whenever you read it. Basically, these chapters have the recipe for a happy life—all you need is lots of light, a dash of salt, and a willing heart to follow the recipe as best as you can for a reward that won't disappoint.

Zeke Hernandez: The Transformative Power of the Gospel and Education

Wharton School of Business professor Zeke Hernandez says that statistically speaking, he shouldn’t be where he is today; like the generations who came before him, he should still be living in poverty. But because of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the educational opportunities the gospel teaches us to seek after, Zeke’s resume doesn’t align with statistical probabilities. On this week’s episode, he discusses why he is a believer that we too often place artificial barriers between our personal and professional pursuits. And it is by removing these barriers and approaching big decisions with a holistic perspective that we are able to reach our full potential.

Chris Thomas: The Faith to Find Elizabeth Smart

On March 12, 2003, 15-year-old Elizabeth Smart was found safe nine months after being abducted from her family’s home in Salt Lake City, Utah. This month marks the 20th anniversary of Elizabeth’s return home and on this week’s episode of All In, we speak with Chris Thomas who acted as spokesperson for the Smart Family throughout their entire experience in searching for Elizabeth.
