My wife and I recently celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary. It has been a wonderful 27 years. It has also been a difficult 27 years. I’ve had to put up with some things; she’s had to put up with a lot more. All successful marriages are a composite of happy and sad experiences. The key is being able to get through the difficult times.
A lot of new subscribers & emails have come from my feature in LDS Living Magazine, as well as Deseret News, in response to having a hard time feeling like they do not fit in. Feeling that they are judged for their mistakes. Want to return but are worried what others may think. Or others who have become offended & do not want to return. Let me share with you a story that I tell during my firesides that everyone gasps out of shock to. An experience that happened to me--due to my appearance--that when I say it everyone reacts the way I did when it happened. When she observed the contention running rampant in her county’s school board meetings, Tagg knew she couldn't stand idly by—she had to, as President Oaks put it, "seek to moderate and unify," knowing that kindness needed to begin with her.
Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf recently shared some cheerful advice on managing relationships in the ongoing pandemic.
The following was originally published in LDS Living magazine in February 2015. This month marks the five-year anniversary of when Jensen Parrish lost her mother, father, and two brothers while serving her mission. We are republishing this article to commemorate their lives and to reflect on the powerful lesson's Jensen shared following her sudden loss.
It doesn't matter who you are, we all have our cloudy days. You may have lost your phone for the millionth time or you may have important gospel questions that remain unanswered. For whatever reason, we all feel hurt, alone, confused, or angry for time to time.
