Latter-day Saint woman’s miraculous story featured on Humans of New York

Humans of New Yorkhas told the stories of over 5,000 people. It is one of the most popular storytelling channels on social media, and on Thursday, the account featured one of our very own. Ashley Evanson is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the author-illustrator of the Hello, World! board book series. Her incredible story wasliked on Instagram by over 425,000 people as of Friday afternoon.

President Nelson Meets New Zealand Prime Minister, Church to Donate to Mosques

In his recent meeting with New Zealand Prime Jacinda Ardern, President Russell M. Nelson presented the prime minister with a Book of Mormon and spoke on a variety of important topics, including freedom of speech, religious freedom, social media, internet security, and the March 15 mosque shootings in New Zealand. “Our hearts were broken when we heard about the tragedy that had taken place and the loss of life," President Nelson said. "People can have differing points of view and yet learn and love one another.”

President Ballard encourages 2021 youth conferences and camps in the US and Canada

In a letter to leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the United States and Canada, President M. Russell Ballard, Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, encouraged leaders to look for ways to reconnect with youth in 2021 through local ward or stake youth conferences and Young Women and Aaronic Priesthood camps. The For the Strength of Youth (FSY) conferences (gatherings of teenagers from dozens of congregations) are postponed in the United States and Canada until 2022.
