My name is Euan Maxton I’m 19 and I live in Dundee, Scotland. Being a member of our church is a big part of my life as it helps me to connect with Heavenly Father and others who share a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I enjoy staying active. I like running which helps me to be more competitive when playing (real) football which I play often. I especially enjoy coming together as a stake and competing against each other. Currently I am working at Asda which is our equivalent to Walmart in Scotland. However, this year my hope is to move forward to University here in Scotland or if the opportunity arises to go and serve a full time mission. I enjoy serving with the missionaries in our ward. I am staying hopeful that as I continue to be faithful I will be prepared to go and serve the Lord.

Haidee Armstrong is a daughter of the covenant. She served a mission in Pocatello, Idaho and a service mission in Denver, Colorado. She is a BYU graduate with a degree in Civil Engineering. During her time at BYU she became a research assistant for Dr. Donald Parry studying Biblical Hebrew. She loves all things pertaining to the gospel as well as Legos, The Lord of the Rings, country swing dancing, and hiking. In fact, she is often known to combine her love of Legos and hiking by doing Lego photography on the mountaintops. Firm in her faith, she believes that the Lord is good at ruining expectations, but is even better at making the outcome greater than imaginable.
Watching the news and reading my Facebook feed there seems to be a common thread lately—hurt. Some of the recent headlines have brought me to my knees asking what can be done and how can we better heal? Answers to my prayers often come in reading the scriptures. And the answers that have come, for both those hurt and those doing the hurting, was forgiveness.
Mormon missionaries first arrived in Tonga in 1891, in the midst of a sea of religious turmoil, landing on the southern island group of Tongatapu. Their journals record vital details that might otherwise have been lost, including stories about their initial meeting with the king of Tonga to seek permission to preach the gospel, their urgent need for housing, and request to the premier of Tonga to build a mission home and school in Mu‘a.

Photo from lds.org Thanks to my job, I am pretty plugged into LDS happenings. I was well aware of the strong possibility that a group of people were attending the afternoon session of conference with the express purpose to give an opposing vote. I watched with trepidation as President Uchtdorf began to read the names of the First Presidency, not sure if or how things would play out.
