Throughout his service in the Church, President Nelson has taught through word and example how to build a strong marriage and appreciate your spouse. Here are a few of his teachings on the topic, excerpted from the new book Teachings of Russell M. Nelson.

I was in England when President Monson called me on the phone and asked me to write his biography. It was June 18, 2008, a Thursday, and the experience is forever imprinted in my heart and mind.

At FAIR, we like to keep abreast of various resources which become available for studying, understanding, and teaching the gospel. With the current Sunday School year focusing on the Doctrine and Covenants, there are two new resources to which we would particularly like to call your attention, as well as some old favorites.

Kate Holbrook, PhD (1972-2022), was a leading voice in the study of Latter-day Saint women and Latter-day Saint foodways. She held a BA from Brigham Young University, and MTS from Harvard Divinity School, and a PhD from Boston University. Kate was a Specialist in Women's History, Managing Historian of Women's History, and Academic Outreach Director at the Church History Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. With her colleagues, Kate coedited ground-breaking collections of Latter-day Saint women's history. She enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening, and talking walks with her husband and three children.

Jen grew up in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, graduated from the University of Utah, and served in the Italy Milan Mission. Her deepest worry about serving a mission was food—and clearly the Lord got the message. She met her favorite person on earth through the mission and she and Dave have been married for 20 years. They are the parents of four children and are raising their family in Sandy, Utah. They feel extra blessed to live so close to their parents and all of their siblings’ families. Jen loves riding her bike and hiking in the mountains just above her house. She loves traveling the world with Dave and her kids, but also equally loves staying home and wearing comfy clothes. She loves 80’s music, açaí bowls, going out with friends, and Sunday dinners with family. Jen is very involved at her children’s schools and is currently serving as a gospel doctrine teacher. She is passionate about studying the gospel and learning about Jesus Christ.
