I staggered out of the airport lugging 2 heavy pieces of baggage, a backpack strapped on both shoulders, and blood shot eyes. I had finally completed the 30 hour journey from the USA to Durban, South Africa. I squinted as I glanced up at the overbearing African sun. It’s the same one I had known on the other side of the world, but it felt much more intense. The humidity hit me almost as hard as the realization that I was in Africa for 24 months.
