On the All In podcast, Sister Bonnie H. Cordon shared her thoughts about different seasons of life and how to determine what is right for you.
On assignment one day in Oklahoma, I had the opportunity to meet with a few of the families devastated by mighty twisters that had recently swept through that area. As I visited with the Sorrels family, I was particularly touched by the experience of their daughter, Tori, then a fifth grader at Plaza Towers Elementary School.
1. Elder Ballard's nickname in college was "the bishop." When Elder Ballard was attending the University of Utah, he was known by his fraternity brothers as "the bishop." He got his nickname in part because his friends knew that he would live true to his standards and beliefs, no matter what happened.
I left on my mission February 23rd, 2011 and went to serve in Philadelphia, PA. I'll never forget my very first few days of my mission and especially a specific counsel my Mission President gave us new missionaries. As we we're sitting in a room at the Church building he looked us in the eyes and said, "I don't like the term 'the best two years.'" When he said that I was so confused because that is the exact phrase we hear growing up in the Church. People tell you that all the time growing up, "just wait until you serve a mission, it will be the best two years of your life!" or " a mission is the best two years" Heck, there is even a iconic Mormon movie called "The Best Two Years" which I'm sure most of you, if not all, have seen before.
As I prepare to marry a wonderful girl in the Los Angeles LDS Temple on Saturday, I can’t help but reflect on how my church has striven mightily to bring this about. From singles wards (congregations) at Brigham Young University to singles conferences throughout the world, singles in the LDS dating pool are brought together on a weekly basis to worship, have fun, date, and marry, preferably in a temple. I have not always enjoyed exploring the Mormon singles scene, but am eternally grateful that the church’s singles program encouraged and guided my fiancée and me towards the ultimate goal of a temple marriage. While I love pointing out areas in which Mormons can learn from Jews, in this case I think that Jews could learn a thing or two from Mormons about providing opportunities for singles to marry within the faith.
You might have missed what went on the last week, but we've put together our list of the week's most popular stories so you don't miss a beat. For March 30 through April 6, 2013, these are LDS Living’s top hits.

Between the garland and holly, the cinnamon and turkey, there's something about Christmas that makes it more magical and memorable than any other time of the year. With family and friends gathered around, we share recollections of the past and create new stories to recount for years to come.
More often than not, these days on the Bloggernacle there is a narrative among LDS people where pain is the central theme. I don’t want to diminish anyone’s trials or hardships. I also do not want to make light of the legitimate struggles we all have on a daily basis. However, when I see the subject of “pain” come up again and again as a narrative for how to live life, I am troubled. Life is hard and there are painful times, but I don’t think Heavenly Father meant for life to be an unrelenting painful experience.
I have to admit, I’m a girl who loves princess movies. As a kid I saw every Disney princess movie ever made. But I think the recent release of Disney’s live action Cinderella is one of my favorites, because it illustrates the power in kindness, courage, work and forgiveness in this fairy tale. The simplicity in these virtues often causes them to be overlooked and underappreciated in the world today. But they brought out the best in Cinderella and helped her to stay strong and true to who she was even when those around her were lost in their grief and sorrows.
