Chris Savage has been a public high school counselor since 2014, first in Los Angeles and now in Fort Collins, Colorado. Chris earned his College Counseling Certificate from UCLA and his bachelor’s degree in psychology and his master’s degree in school counseling from California State University, Northridge. He is a loving husband and father of two. He loves being active (especially in the outdoors!), coaching volleyball, personal finance/investing, and learning new things.
Christopher Jones is a father, husband, and historian. A graduate of Brigham Young University (BA, 2007; MA, 2009) and the College of William & Mary (PhD, 2016), he is currently an assistant professor of history at BYU, where he teaches a variety of courses, including Revolutionary America, African American Family History, Slavery and the Slave Trade, Family and Law in American History, and Missions and Missionaries in American History. His research focuses on religion, race, slavery, and family in early America and the Atlantic World, and his work has been published in Religion & American Culture: A Journal of Interpretation, the Journal of Mormon History, and BYU Studies Quarterly. He is currently completing two book projects - a study of Methodism in Revolutionary America and a co-edited volume on Protestant and Latter-day Saint missions in American History. Christopher lives in South Jordan, Utah with his wife, Karim—a content creator, author, and photographer—and their four children. As a family, they enjoy food (both cooking and eating), hiking, reading, travel, and sports.
DeAnn Hansen is a lover of Diet Coke, good dark chocolate, and teeny tiny things. She is an expert girls camp leader (like 20 times+ kind of expert.) She also loves being an aunt, jogging in the park (okay so it's more of a walk/jog kinda thing,) and yoga. She is blessed with dear friends and most importantly loves the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She has a heart of service and has been helping solve customer service problems and concerns at Deseret Book for 30 years.
Hayley Fletcher is fourteen years old. She enjoys the performing arts and has been involved in several plays. She loves to sing, act, and listen to music and audiobooks. Hayley is a great student and friend; she always finds ways to involve others. She loves anything chocolate.
Bekki Hood grew up in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, until she moved to Arizona for her education. Because of her love for writing, teaching, and helping others, she earned a master’s degree in English at Brigham Young University and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at Idaho State University. She currently works as a counselor in Layton, Utah, and she teaches introductory writing courses at BYU. She loves visiting her family, spending time with friends, and crashing her parents’ vacations.
Emily Cushing was raised in South Jordan, Utah, and met her husband in their middle school math class. Her love of learning led her to become a teacher. She earned a master’s degree in teaching and learning at Brigham Young University and has taught, among other places, in Tonga, Myrtle Beach, and England. She currently teaches in the Education Department at Utah Valley University. She enjoys reading, running, traveling, living in foreign places, and, above all, spending time with her family.
