Recently, I was studying the words of King Benjamin, and was struck by his opening remarks. I feel as if he touches on issues that concern many members of the Church today, about the nature of prophets and apostles.
Even when he was a young surgeon, Dr. Nelson’s operating room was calm and orderly and had an attitude of respect for everyone in the room. “Things can go wrong in a hurry in the operating room,” he explained, “particularly if you’re working with circuits and connectors and things where an aorta can blow apart in front of your eyes, or the tubing can split open. You’ve got to be ready to make instant decisions and take instant actions. The only way you can do that is to demand absolute control over your emotions. Absolute control. Editor's note: This is the third in a series looking back on Vai Sikahema's career in the NFL. It has become almost a right of passage for professional athletes to reward their parents, especially Mom, with a mansion after signing that first big contract.
This week in the Wisconsin Milwaukee Mission was intense with some special finding experiences. On Tuesday we only had two appointments scheduled, which left us with about 6 straight hours of tracting door to door. It was very difficult. We shared a few messages on doorsteps but NO ONE wanted us to come back. In fact, most people were strangely rude.
