As a single Latter-day Saint, church experiences are different from the “norm.” I took some time to talk with a dozen or so singles and former singles (particularly those who spent some real time being single past the age of 21) and invited them to tell the rest of us what they’d like us to know about their experience as singles in the Church.
Another general conference came and went this past weekend, but many of the messages we heard will remain with us. We celebrated Easter by hearing testimonies of Jesus Christ from speakers who represented every populated continent on earth. We celebrated together as temples were announced around the world. And we heard calls for kindness that will hopefully influence how we engage with others moving forward.

Several refugee families living in Logan received much-needed donations of furniture, bedding and other items on Saturday, thanks to the English Language Center of Cache Valley, the LDS Humanitarian Center and the hard work of local Eagle Scouts. “We have refugees from Burma, Africa, several different places,” said Katie Jensen, co-director of the English Language Center, which teaches language and other important life skills to immigrant adults. “And when they arrive in our valley, they usually arrive with just what they have on their backs, because they come right out of refugee camps.”
