Valleda Woodhall was born in Lancashire, England. Early on her parents recognized her love for dance, this led her to musical dance where she performed on the London stage for 6 years. Valleda met John Woodhall while on theater break. John came to America to pursue a golf career and Valleda followed shortly after to marry him and start their new life in America. Valleda is the mother to twins Ty & Tava, a grandmother to eight 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. When she isn’t working, she’s cooking and baking for her family. She is known for her incredible pies and had the opportunity to make a very special Peach pie for Elder Bednar when he visited a few years ago. Truly a highlight. Valleda and John were baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when they were 80 years old and then sealed in the Gilbert Temple. They have enjoyed serving & learning all they can about the gospel.
Tava Udall was born in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho to John and Valleda Woodhall who had immigrated from England. While in High School she was introduced to the gospel through friends. She later met Kent Udall on a blind date and was baptized and married. She is the mother to three children who are the joys of her life. She has served in various callings in Relief Society, Young Women, Primary and currently served as the Stake Relief Society President of the Mesa Kimball East Stake, Mesa Arizona. She loves to serve and loves music and is an accomplished pianist. She loves to create musical events. She has found that 'Music' is the universal language and is the conduit to the Spirit, which she loves to share. Tava loves golf, road biking and digital scrapbooking.
Jim Hall was born and raised in the Oakland California area. After serving a mission to Boston Massachusetts, he graduated from Utah State University with a bachelors and masters degree in business information systems. Jim enjoys gardening and maintains a very large vegetable garden every summer. His favorite band of all time is Echo and the Bunnymen. He is married to Tammy Hall. His guess is this will be the first and last time he is on the podcast.
Rebecca Miller is the instructor for the Independent Study Biblical Hebrew course at BYU and serves as an assistant instructor for HEB 131–132 on campus with Dr. Donald W. Parry. Before teaching Biblical Hebrew, she worked as a licensed dental hygienist for 14 years until she felt a strong prompting from the Lord to return to school to study Biblical Hebrew. Following that impression has led her into teaching and opened doors to grow both spiritually and academically. She is also a mother of seven and loves skiing, hiking, family history, and exploring National Parks with her husband and children. Learning and teaching Biblical Hebrew has strengthened her faith in the Lord and brought the scriptures alive with new meaning, and she loves sharing that same joy with others.
Courtney Spencer is a wife, mother to a 3-year-old and 9-month-old, and a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having joined the Church at age 26 while living in New York City. She is the author of “Embrace the Hit”, a former National TV Host for CBS Deals on CBS Mornings and QVC, and co-founder of a fitness-tech startup later acquired by Beachbody. A lifelong athlete, she most recently trained and competed for seven years in the Winter Olympic sport of Skeleton.
