Known for being an accomplished writer, violinist, and lecturer, Google wrote that Zitkála-Šá was a member of the Yankton Sioux Tribe of South Dakota who “devoted her life to the protection and celebration of her Indigenous heritage through the arts and activism.” But did you know that Zitkála-Šá also had connections to Utah and even to Brigham Young University?

The holiday “eating frenzy” is here. I hope you don’t get “BLASTed.” That’s an acronym we use in our weight loss classes to help our patients get their eating under control. Bored. Lonely. Angry. But early chatter from the Mormon community is already divided between those eager to see the show, and a more conservative group who views the play as another instance of persecution against their faith. John Dehlin, 41, of Logan, Utah has already purchased his tickets to the Broadway musical and will be flying to New York with a group of 10 people (only one of whom isn’t Mormon) on March 25th.
In our efforts to not say His name too frequently, have we not said His name frequently enough?
They did not come neatly dressed in shirt and tie, ready to proclaim the Book of Mormon. Instead, wearing bright yellow T-shirts, 40 volunteers from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints came armed with chainsaws, work gloves and wheel barrows; and Saturday morning, they knocked on two Hodges Road doors to clear a large hardwood whose limbs covered much of the land between the properties.
