Republican presidential primary rivals Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman are both Mormons whose ancestral roots run deep into the church’s pioneer history - intertwining, in fact, several generations back. Relatives of both men have served near the top of Mormonism’s global hierarchy. But in public remarks they have drawn strikingly different religious self-portraits. Romney is highly active and orthodox - he was a top local lay leader in Massachusetts for years, and he has embraced his church unequivocally: “I believe in my Mormon faith and endeavor to live by it,’’ he said in a major speech in 2007.

When I was twenty-two, my mother was diagnosed with cancer. I learned the devastating news while on a Study Abroad at the BYU Jerusalem Center. When I received that call, I was standing at a pay phone on the banks of the Sea of Galilee. I was in the land where the Lord had performed so many miracles, and I knew He could heal my mother. I just needed to have enough faith!

English, U.S. Mormons create 'Faith the Musical'

In a unique intercontinental mingling of talent and faith, the Cheltenham England Stake and the South Jordan Utah Glenmoor Stake are joining forces to present "Faith the Musical" at the LDS Conference Center Little Theater. The production opens tonight at 7:30 p.m, with additional performances scheduled Friday and Saturday and again Aug. 9-13 at 7:30 p.m. each evening. There will also be a 2 p.m. matinee Saturday.

Nelson shares that "Our Lullaby" is "a song of hope that parents could sing to their potential future child." The message of this song beautifully illustrates the dreams and faith that so many couples cling to while battling infertility and conveys the hope and healing of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
