It was a typical day in my couples counseling practice. I listened to a heartbroken spouse tearfully share her pain regarding what her husband had done. She had just discovered he had been cheating on her for the past six months with one of his old high school girlfriends. “How did this happen?” I asked the husband. He began to cry as well. He didn’t understand how it happened. He mentioned making jokes with the woman on a social media site one day when he saw her post something humorous. From there he described a tale of secrecy that moved to full-blown sexual indiscretions. His wife found out because he left his phone on with one of her messages loaded.

Former BYU quarterback John Beck appears to have found a home with the Washington Redskins, but not everybody in the nation's capital knows who he is. Coach Mike Shanahan has been effusive in his praise of Beck, who could be the Redskins' starter this season. Yet Beck was denied entry into the team's facilities this week when the security guard failed to recognize him.
Remember our cookie contest? The winner (Lemon Crinkle Cookies) continues to be one of LDS Living's most popular online posts every week. Since it seems people enjoy a good recipe, and with the holidays just around the corner (with lots of "parties for hosting"), we're looking for the best party foods. This means any type of finger food or appetizer (please, no desserts). Here are the rules (you must abide by each for your recipe to be considered):
With over 143 operating LDS temples around the world, there are bound to be some stories and facts you haven't heard before. Our first article in this series covered 20 interesting things about temples, and here we present 16 additional little-known facts about LDS temples.
A couple of years ago I wrote a column about Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the "South Park" guys, and their proposed Broadway-bound "Mormon Musical." After detailing how they have lampooned all things LDS since their earliest collaborations around 1993, I suggested it was time for the duo to find a new target.
