Nephi Garcia and his young family had hit rock bottom. They were living out of a motel room and had no home and no money. But what they did have was a season pass to the happiest place on earth—Disneyland.

Joleene Tower Watabe was born and raised in San Diego, California, where she developed a love of the ocean, an appreciation of the importance of family, and a life-long craving for good weather. She attended UCSD for a year before transferring to BYU where she met and married Tim. They went on a 26-year adventure together that led to four amazing children, graduate degrees for both of them, and making their home in various places such as Japan and Ohio before Tim died in an accident. Joleene moved to Utah a couple years ago to be close to her oldest children while they finish college. She works as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor and enjoys reading, writing, and sharing her passion for developing good mental health habits. She is continuing to rebuild her life and find a new path forward by spending more time with her family, exploring the outdoors, and going to the beach whenever possible. She is also looking for her next home in a place where she no longer has to endure cold winter months.

Comedy group Studio C has delighted hundreds of people with their hilarious, clean humor. They've done sketches with popular Mormons like Shawn Bradley and young Lexi Walker, and Matt Meese, one of the lead cast members, even debuted in the newest Saints & Soldiers film last weekend. And yesterday during a rehearsal for their upcoming season, they got a surprise visit from President and Sister Uchtdorf--how fun!

Founded in August of 1847, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir is a world-renowned organization. The famous choir tours around the world, holds a yearly, well-known Christmas concert and has been nominated for five Grammy Awards, winning one of them. Along the way, the choir has performed for, and with, many prominent individuals.

A couple of firsts happened this week in the tradition of having prayers open and close the inauguration ceremonies of elected leaders in Utah and the nation's capital. Capturing national headlines was the selection of Myrlie Evers-Williams, widow of slain civil rights leader Medgar Evers, to offer the invocation at President Barack Obama's public swearing-in on Jan. 21.

Professor William J. Hamblin has offered some good starting points in considering the relationship between the ancient Israelite temple ritual and the modern day LDS temple endowment. It is from this vantage point that we should approach trying to understand these ancient ritual systems and the connections they might have with the Latter-day Saints temple ritual.

The power and the lesson of family history work is love, Elder Paul E. Koelliker of the Seventy said at a devotional session of the RootsTech conference Feb. 4. An assistant executive director of the Family History Department, Elder Koelliker spoke to a gathering largely consisting of priesthood leaders, family history center directors and ward family history consultants in the Church.
