Here are some amazing insights from a Christian woman about why we need prayer in our lives.
A few weeks ago, a good friend and two others were nabbed together in a drug bust. My pal, “D”, is being held without bond.
It’s a bed that makes an enormous difference — an individual bed to sleep in as an alternative to a mat, a tarp or just plain dirt. After months, years and sometimes decades of wandering, of running, of confinement in refugee camps and of escaping, some very fortunate asylum seekers receive their first gift in Salt Lake City, Utah — a bed, complete with a mattress and a hand-tied quilt, as a symbolic beginning to their resettlement in the United States of America.
As always, I try to hit each section briefly and offer some food for thought through the scriptures quoted. I also give questions for each section. My hope is that these questions make you come up with questions of your own. My questions, and commentary, are mostly rhetorical to help guide your own thoughts on the subject. Judgments of God
With Christmas just around the corner, busy families have more than enough to worry about. For most people, Christmas means concerts to attend, gifts to wrap, parties to attend and food to eat.
“The biggest thing we want is to spread truth,” Taryn Royall said. “And even if we don’t impact a big group of people, we want to impact an individual. And that’s our goal: to touch someone’s life.”

Each month, LDS youth around the world study a different doctrinal principle that is coordinated across Young Men, Young Women, and youth Sunday School classes. The topic for December is Building the Kingdom of God in the Latter Days. The youth were sent to the earth at this specific time to help prepare the world for the Second Coming of the Savior. They have special gifts and talents that the Lord wants them to use to help build His kingdom and share His gospel. The classroom discussions during December will help them develop those gifts as they prepare to become leaders and teachers in the Church and kingdom of God.

While this might sound like the beginning of a joke, it's actually a true and rather exciting story involving tracking down and meeting up with the Hollywood star Shia LaBeaouf in his cross-country travels.
There was a girl in my grade in elementary school whose family had FIVE kids. When I first met her, I remember saying, “Whoa,” like Sarah had just moved in from outer space instead of Shelton, Connecticut, the town to our north. When Sarah was absent for several days in a row, I figured her mom was too busy to send her to school because she had a big family. When her jeans got holes in the knees, I figured they must have been her older sister’s. When her hair was messy, it was because her parents were too busy to help her brush it. I made a lot of assumptions about Sarah’s family when I was a little girl.
