As BYU football faced off against in-state rival Utah State last Thursday in Provo, Utah, BYU's mascot grabbed the attention of national media outlets with one jaw-dropping stunt.
Videos posted to social media show the mascot scaling folding tables stacked three high—and he did it all in pushup position.
As fans scream and cheer him on, Cosmo uses his arms and legs to launch himself upward one level and then two. When he tries to propel himself to the top level, he stumbles—but he tries again and successfully makes it to the top.
The feat of athleticism impressed fans and media alike, with CBS Sports, Sports Illustrated, Bleacher Report, and the Pro Football Hall of Fame retweeting the video along with their dumbfounded reactions:
As the Hall of Fame, we feel it’s important to keep our eyes open to recognize excellence wherever it exists in football.
And as far as mascot athleticism goes, what @BYUfootball’s mascot did tonight may be unmatched 🤯
