Donny Osmondunderwent vocal chord surgery on August 11 to remove a hemorrhagic polyp (or a bleeding lesion) from his right vocal cord.

For three weeks, Osmond was not able to sing or even make a sound while his vocal cords recovered.

But that time is up. At his last doctor's appointment, Osmond sang for the first time. About the experience, Osmond posted on his Facebook page:

With a bit of trepidation, I sang for the first time since the operation. I can't begin to explain how happy I am to have my voice back.
It's a bit unusual to post a video like this, but I think it's very interesting to actually see my vocal chords work as you'll see on the video screen behind me.
Oh Happy Day!I just saw Dr. Zeitels here in Boston. He operated on my vocal chords 3 weeks ago to remove a polyp. After remaining completely silent since then, and with the camera focused on my chords, he told me to sing. With a bit of trepidation, I sang for the first time since the operation. I can't begin to explain how happy I am to have my voice back. It's a bit unusual to post a video like this, but I think it's very interesting to actually see my vocal chords work as you'll see on the video screen behind me. Thanks to everyone who kept me in your prayers and for all of the thoughtful and kind posts here on Facebook and on my Twitter account. I'll be working every day to get my voice back to 100%. Las Vegas begins on September 29th and I'll be ready for it. Posted by Donny Osmond on Monday, August 31, 2015

Osmond is still optimistic about his recovery, posting, "I'll be working every day to get my voice back to 100%. Las Vegas begins on September 29th and I'll be ready for it."
