The Church’s 2022 Light the World Giving Machines are going where they’ve never gone before—literally! This year, 18 new cities will have a physical Giving Machine experience, either for the duration of the holiday season or on a temporary basis. According to Church Newsroom, since the first Giving Machine was installed in 2017, more than $15 million has been donated by charitable families and individuals. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints covers all operational costs for the Giving Machines, and 100% of every donation goes to the charitable causes.

Giving Machines have have caught the attention of news media and celebrities in the past: last year, Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons unveiled a machine in Las Vegas, and Drew Barrymore praised the NYC machines on her talk show.
