In an adorable new Friend-to-Friend broadcast, Elder Gérald Caussé and his wife, Sister Valérie Caussé, creatively taught children about relationships by sharing one of their family’s favorite traditions—making crêpes.

“When we add ingredients in a recipe, it’s like in a family,” Sister Caussé said. “We are different from each other like all those ingredients, but getting together, it gives something very beautiful.”

Elder Caussé added, “We are all united in a family, [even though] we are all different with different characters, different [personalities], different talents, different skills.”

Using Valérie’s recipe, the Caussés made crêpes with help from the two children hosting the broadcast, Millie and Leki. They then topped them with hazelnut spread, whipped cream, and bananas.

“The toppings may represent all your friends outside of your family,” Elder Caussé said. “That’s important—to have good friends.”

Another Caussé family tradition is singing together. With help from a few other children joining the broadcast, the Caussés sang “Families Can Be Together Forever” while Elder Caussé accompanied on the piano. Two of the Caussé’s granddaughters who live in France then joined via video call. Elder Caussé briefly chatted with them in his native language, then the group sang the song again in French.
