Sitting on the Bench: Thoughts on Suicide Awareness and Prevention

Recently, he wrote an article on the Huffington Post, stating, "Some time ago, I did keyword research for a project on suicide prevention. One of the things that shocked me the most was how often people search for terms relating to suicide. Phrases like: 'Would Everyone Be Happier Without Me?' or 'I Feel Suicidal,' and even 'How to Commit Suicide,' receive between one thousand and ten thousand monthly searches.

"One thousand is too many. One is too many." (For more from Seth Adam Smith, check out "15 Powerful LDS Resources for Battling Depression.")

Smith then shared this powerful video with LDS author Ganel-Lyn Condie, whose sister committed suicide three years ago. (For more from Ganel-Lyn Condie, read "4 Lessons of Hope I Learned from My Sister's Suicide.")
