10 Wonderful Promised Blessings If We Magnify our Callings

6. We will inherit eternal life.

Colossians 3:22-24 reads:

"Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:

"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

"Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ."

7. Our needs will be taken care of.

2 Corinthians 9:6-8 reads:

"But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

"Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:"

8. We will have magnified priesthood power in our lives.

President Gordon B. Hinckley, in his 1989 conference address "Magnify Your Calling," said:

"Each of us is responsible for the welfare and the growth and development of others. We do not live only unto ourselves. If we are to magnify our callings, we cannot live only unto ourselves. As we serve with diligence, as we teach with faith and testimony, as we lift and strengthen and build convictions of righteousness in those whose lives we touch, we magnify our priesthood. To live only unto ourselves, on the other hand, to serve grudgingly, to give less than our best effort to our duty, diminishes our priesthood just as looking through the wrong lenses of binoculars reduces the image and makes more distant the object."

9. We will be given the opportunity to help those beyond the veil.

Then-Elder Henry B. Eyring, in his 2002 General Conference talk "Rise to Your Call," stated:

"Your call has eternal consequences for others and for you. In the world to come, thousands may call your name blessed, even more than the people you serve here. They will be the ancestors and the descendants of those who chose eternal life because of something you said or did, or even what you were."

10. We will have the Holy Ghost with us.

In the same talk, Then-Elder Eyring said:

"The Lord will magnify what you say and what you do in the eyes of the people you serve. He will send the Holy Ghost to manifest to them that what you spoke was true. What you say and do will carry hope and give direction to people far beyond your natural abilities and your own understanding. That miracle has been a mark of the Lord’s Church in every dispensation. It is so much a part of your call that you may begin to take it for granted."
