On Monday, December 7, the Church announced that some temples would soon begin Phase 3. Included in the announcement were three videos from Elders Dale G. Renlund, David A. Bednar, and Gary E. Stevenson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. The videos shared powerful teachings about loving one’s neighbor, the blessings of temple worship, and adapting to pandemic circumstances. President Russell M. Nelson also posted about the announcement on Facebook promising miracles to those who make sacrifices and worship in His temples.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints began reopening its temples in May 2020 using a careful, cautious, four-phase approach to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Picture this: It's the night of Christmas Eve and your entire family is in their pajamas, blankets in tow, nestled in front of the fireplace, in oversized armchairs, sprawled on couches enjoying their first gift of Christmas–a brand-new book–until they fall asleep.

The Nashville Tribute Band’s Jason Deere is the son of two converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His father joined the Church after noticing something different about a man who had a desk across from him at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, Oklahoma. The man was a Latter-day Saint from Idaho named Gary Cox.

As the year 2020 comes to a close, Newsroom of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released a series of articles highlighting what members can expect from the new Liahona, For the Strength of Youth, and Friend magazines launching in 2021.
