On July 25, John Page was reported missing by his family. For 12 days, his family and over 200 volunteers helped search for Page, eventually narrowing their search to Lakeside Mountain, near where Page's car was discovered.

On August 5, Page's family announced on Facebook, "At 9:10 am, our family was notified that a search team found Johnny's body. We are forever grateful for all of the thoughts and prayers on behalf of Johnny and our family. Our family has been overwhelmed with the number of people searching for him. We can not thank everyone enough for sacrificing their time and resources in helping us bring our Dad home."

Despite this tragic news, the family testified of God's grace and mercy: "We have seen small miracles and tender mercies along this journey. We are indebted to our Heavenly Father for his grace in helping us through this trial."

The morning the family heard Page's body was found, they were all gathered together for a memorial. The family shares, "We know that our Grandpa Johnny has been reunited with his wife and is at peace. We loved him so much and are comforted in our knowledge of forever families."

An avid outdoorsman, Page left an impact on those he met, a fact which was demonstrated by the hundreds willing to continue searching for him. "This testifies to how amazing our Dad was and how many peoples’ lives he impacted," the family wrote on Facebook.

Throughout the past two weeks, Page's family has expressed gratitude for the prayers that sustained them during this time: "On behalf of our sweet Father, Grandfather, Brother and Uncle, we cannot put in words how grateful we are for every single person that has helped search for John. . . . Please known that we have felt all of your prayers. We are forever indebted to the kindness we have been shown by family and friends."
