Announcements for Rexburg’s second temple and the Jacksonville Florida Temple

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released the date of the groundbreaking ceremony for the Teton River Idaho Temple, which will take place on June 1, 2024. Elder Ricardo P. Giménez, Second Counselor in the North America Central Area Presidency, will preside at the event.

Attendance at the site will be by invitation only. Additional details will be released as the date of the groundbreaking approaches.

An exterior artistic rendering has also been released.

Jacksonville Florida Temple

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released the site location for The Jacksonville Florida Temple.

Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 29,000 square feet to be constructed on a 6.6-acre site located at 3323 Loretto Road, Jacksonville, Florida.

President Russell M. Nelson announced this house of the Lord in October 2022. “I promise that increased time in the temple will bless your life in ways nothing else can,” he said before announcing 18 new houses of the Lord, including the Jacksonville Florida Temple.

The five temples that are announced, under construction, or in operation in Florida comprise the Fort Lauderdale Florida Temple, Jacksonville Florida Temple, Orlando Florida Temple, Tallahassee Florida Temple, and the Tampa Florida Temple. …
