BYU’s performance of ‘Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing’ will reenergize your trust in God

The recent inauguration of a new president of Brigham Young University included an incredible demonstration of how to truly sing in “songs of loudest praise.”

At the inauguration ceremony for President C. Shane Reese on September 19, the combined choirs from Brigham Young University and the BYU Philharmonic Orchestra performed a breathtaking rendition of “Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing.” The performance was a powerful take on a hymn beloved by many Latter-day Saints and brought an incredible spirit to the historic day for the university.

As of this publication, the video has more than 438,000 views.

Ellen Bahr commented on YouTube, “One of the most powerful performances I have ever experienced in person! I thought the roof of the Marriott Center was going to come off. It was truly a choir of angels.”

User David Jonathan Smith wrote, “Thank you, you wonderful students and master musicians. Being there was a true blessing, thanks greatly to your angelic performance. You taught the gospel powerfully through your music!”

Others said the performance was “What heaven on earth sounds like,” “Purely celestial,” and a “beautiful witness of Christ's redeeming love!!!”
