At the Saturday morning session of the April 2023 general conference, the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square sang a less well-known second verse of the beloved hymn “Keep the Commandments.

Here are the lyrics to the second verse:

We are His children;
We are His children;
And we must be tested
To show we are true,
Hold to His promises
Hold to His promises
Heeding the prophets
Keep the commandments
In this there is safety and peace.

The youngest members of your family may recognize this second verse, though. The verse is found in the Children’s Songbook and is often sung in Primary, but it’s not found in the Church’s hymnbook.

You can watch the second verse performed by the Choir during the Saturday morning session by scrolling back through the broadcast feed on YouTube.
