Watch: How can your family use ‘Preach My Gospel’ 2nd edition?

The First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles issued a second edition of “Preach My Gospel” on Thursday, June 22, during the 2023 Seminar for New Mission Leaders at the Provo Missionary Training Center. The revised manual is an enhanced resource to all Church members in sharing the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

This Church News video, titled “Preach My Gospel,” features three members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles—President M. Russell Ballard, Acting President; Elder Jeffrey R. Holland; and Elder Quentin L. Cook, who chairs the Church’s Missionary Executive Council—talking about the updated missionary manual during interviews recorded in June 2023.

“We knew the missionaries would all want ‘Preach My Gospel,’” said President Ballard of the manual’s original release in 2004. But “the membership of the Church found it,” and parents began using it as a home evening resource, “teaching their children who were going to, at some time, serve missions.”

Now that the updated manual is in the Gospel Library, Elder Cook said, “we think that one of the things that can happen is that families can use it.”

“Preach My Gospel,” added Elder Holland, “may well be that this is the best organized manual we have in the Church on how to study the gospel, how to feel the gospel and embrace it personally, and then to share it with others.”
