Al Fox (now Al Fox Carraway) wasn’t looking for religion. In fact, when the missionaries tracted in to her while she was living in New York, she told them she would let them teach her only if they brought her a steak dinner, sure they wouldn’t follow through and she wouldn’t have to see them again.
My relationship with my now-husband began the way many relationships do: with a DTR (define-the-relationship conversation). It happened on a Friday night. But less than 24 hours later, on our first official date as boyfriend and girlfriend, I found the need to initiate another DTR.
Many of us often sit in the same area each week when we attend church, sometimes just out of habit and ease, and some people like to even sit in the exact same row each week.
Motherhood. We cherish and celebrate it, and sometimes we complain about it. Sometimes we yell at our kids, and sometimes they teach us the most profound lessons we could learn in life. The kids scribble on the walls, and they kiss us on the cheek when we’re feeling down.

In Doctrine and Covenants 115:4-6, the Lord calls to action all the people of His Church, inviting them to “arise and shine forth” so that their “light may be a standard for the nations.” He asks them to join together to support one another and become a “refuge from the storm.”
This update to the scriptures is a big deal--the last major revisions to the scriptures were made in 1981, when footnotes and cross references were added--but it wasn't a change that happened all at once.
Now before we start nit-picking, let me clarify: not all these dresses are 100% modest by LDS standards. But most of them are pretty dang close, and compared to all the other outfits celebrities are wearing these days, we applaud these women for their style choices. And with only slight modifications needed for a few of these outfits (most notably in the lining), these can still provide inspiration for all of us in our quest for modesty.

I adore Kate Middleton. I think she’s poised and elegant and, well, regal. And, in a world where celebrities cavort more nude than not across the front covers of magazines, gossip sites, and the news, she’s a refreshing breath of air.
The comparisons between being spiritually and physically fed are many. But perhaps one of my favorite things about conference weekend is that they can become one and the same. I love being able to be so spiritually edified while lounging in the comfort of my PJs and consuming delicious food.
Ok, all you would-be online dating aficionados. I’m back from the trenches with more stories and advice to share. In my last post on online dating, I talked about how to optimize your profile for maximum match-finding possibilities.
To some, going on 22 blind dates in a row could be a long and intimidating experience. For others, it’s a thrilling opportunity to meet Mr. (or Mrs.) right. And for a very select few, it just may be reality.
Some guys seem to have a complex about free or low-cost dates. They worry that if they don’t throw wads of cash around, women will think they are cheap. If they use a coupon at a restaurant, it’ll be tacky. Etc.
