The Twilight fan community on TikTok has adopted Lee Benson, a seasoned Deseret News reporter and Latter-day Saint, as their dad.

After he came in last place in his fantasy football league last year, Benson's penalty was reading the book Twilight and giving a book report to the rest of the league .

His son Tanner put the video presentation on TikTok, which Lee calls ”a kind of hipster/hippie version of YouTube for short attention spans that until a week and a half ago I knew as much about as the weather patterns in Ethiopia.“

Benson has written more than a dozen books, including in-depth coverage of the Elizabeth Smart kidnapping, legendary football coach LaVell Edwards, and the history of the Summer and Winter Olympic Games. But, in his words, “In less than two weeks, more people have viewed the report on Twilight that I wrote in 30 minutes ... than all of them combined.”

Twilight fans—sometimes known as “twihards”—have posted thousands of comments on the video including this one: “He's our dad now.“

At the time of this article's publication, the video has roughly 1.6 million views. Watch the viral book report below:
