Our local Utahns know it’s been a long winter and an even wetter spring. If you’re itching to get outside and enjoy the delightful evening summer air, we have just the thing for you. There will be free outdoor concerts every Friday evening, June through August, in the Brigham Young Historic Park in Salt Lake City, Utah. These hour-long concerts are perfect for date nights or family outings—and, as a bonus, they’re free! Each week, a new musical group will perform, so you’ll be serenaded with a wide variety of musical styles all summer long.

Here’s a breakdown of the concert schedule:

June 2: Relic Acoustic Band. This band will take you back in time to the golden era of acoustic rock, playing all the songs you love from artists like Bob Dylan, the Beatles, James Taylor, and many more.

June 9: Mariachi Sol de Jalisco. This classic mariachi-style band will fill your evening with energetic authentic Mexican folk music.

June 16: Corey Christiansen. Get ready for an evening of fresh arrangements of timeless jazz with Corey (guitar) and his trio.

June 23: Utah Pipe Band. The Utah Pipe Band was created in 1937 by Scottish immigrants, and today they still celebrate their heritage by making music with Scotland’s favorite instrument: the bagpipe.

June 30: Hartstrings. Join the Gardner and Hart families as they present a program featuring music that ranges from sacred favorites to Broadway classics.

July 7: Hinge Point. Hinge Point is made up of three sisters who love to sing uplifting Christian music, both writing their own original songs and singing covers of their favorites.

July 14: No concert

July 21: Showstopping Music from Stage and Screen. You don’t want to miss the post popular concert of the summer! Local performers from across the state will join Concerts in the Park for a night full of Broadway classics and movie hits.

July 28: Music’s Greatest Hits. This concert will feature opera’s most beloved arias, and even if you don’t think opera is your thing, you’re sure to recognize several of the famous melodies that you already know and love.

August 4: Stratford Street Big Band and the Sugar Sisters. This twenty-piece community big band will wow you with their selection of the greatest big-band hits.

August 11: Blasted Past. You’ll be tempted to stand up and dance along with this local group while they sing your favorite rocks hits from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s. You won’t want to miss it!

August 18: Ku Pono I Kamalani. Come get a glimpse of paradise with the Ku Pono I Kamalani group, made up of performers of all ages who are passionate about one thing: sharing the beauty of Hawaiian and Pacific Island cultures through song and dance!

August 25: Dallyn Bayles. Don’t miss out on the chance to hear this Broadway veteran sing your favorite tunes from Les Misérables, Phantom of the Opera, Man of La Mancha, South Pacific, and many others. It’ll be a fantastic end to a summer full of marvelous music.
