President Uchtdorf Shares Reactions to His Challenge for Church Members in 2017

It's not always easy to follow the commandments to love God and love our neighbors.

With all of the distractions of everyday life, it is easy to forget to keep these two vital commandments.

But many have taken President Dieter F. Uchtdorf's counsel to live these two commandments each day to heart.

And in a recent Facebook post, President Uchtdorf shared the comments of those who accepted the challenge to remember these two important commandments.

Yesterday I read through some of the comments many of you included on my January 1 Facebook post, where I invited us all to focus on the Savior’s instruction to love God and love our neighbors. It brought Harriet and me so much joy to see comments from good people throughout the world who are seeking to do good to our fellowmen.
Katie from the United States wrote, “I'm going to make a big sign of this and put it on my wall in my bedroom. This will be my resolution for 2017—to live these two basic but somehow elusive principals. I'm done with them being elusive! They are going to be who I am!!!”
Zoliswa from South Africa shared, “It is my prayer that I may remember these teachings and apply them in my life daily.”
And Faet from the Ivory Coast said that he and his family will “endeavor to apply” these principles the Savior has taught us about love.
I encourage all of us to join our efforts and focus on the two great commandments in the new year. As we strive to love God with all our hearts, souls, and minds, and love our neighbors as ourselves, all other good things will fall into place. I pray that we will all be successful. Blessings to all of you!
